This little guy is full of independence. He did get a bit concerned when I placed him in a field of weeds and walked away so I could get a better camera angle.

I never did get his picture in his Halloween costume – despite my best intentions. I figured that something was better than nothing, so I dressed him up and threw him in the back yard. I chased him around, but it wasn’t until he started climbing on the basketball stand that I got what I was looking for.  I guess what I’ve learned from chasing my own toddler around with a camera to my eye is to let them be the boss for a while.  He was NOT going to pose out on the grass, nor was he going to sit by a goal post (which was my original idea).  But I’m his mom and I think this is perfection – all the way down to the drool on his chin.
